Article on PV installation

Hospice Malta has invested in the installation of a photovoltaic array of 12 solar panels that can supply part of the annual electricity consumption at the Hospice Malta premises in Balzan.  Hospice Malta provides and promotes the highest standards of Palliative care for persons with cancer, motor neurone disease and other terminal disease.

The array, partially funded under the European Regional Development Fund programme and national funds will be producing around 4.800kwh of electricity and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 4.35 tons a year.

Both the Malta-EU Steering & Action Committee (MEUSAC) and the Government’s Planning and Priorities Coordination Department (PPCD) provided Hospice Malta with the required technical support during the project planning and application stage.
