Job Description
We are looking for a qualified Complementary Therapist to work within the Hospice professional Care Team providing Palliative Care to patients and their families. The position is on a Part-Time basis and the chosen candidate will be accountable to the Care Services Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
- To provide Complementary Therapy sessions according to the clients’ needs and their medical conditions.
- To assess, plan and implement patient care.
- To discuss and offer advice during meetings.
- To record assessments, follow up visits and telephone contacts.
- To liaise with other professionals involved in the care both within and outside the team, as well as other agencies when necessary.
- To refer to other professionals or agencies when necessary.
- To always promote awareness of palliative care.
Key Attributes
- An ITEC Diploma NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification in massage, aromatherapy and/or reflexology.
- A minimum of one years’ experience as a Complementary Therapist.
- In possession of a clean driving licence.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Able to work effectively on their own as well as within the team
- Effective time management skills
