Job description
The selected candidate will be responsible to generate a stable revenue stream to support Hospice’s activities by establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with donors and benefactors; having general oversight of all Hospice’s funding and development activities, as well as the management of day to day operations of the revenue department. This, in line with the organization’s ambition to offer the best possible palliative care services to patients and families alike. Ultimately, the CRO must be able to connect, build trust, and inspire investors and donors to contribute towards the operations of Hospice Malta.
Duties and Responsibilities
This position involves the provision of a general oversight of all of the organization’s funding and development activities, the management of day to day operations of the revenue development function, and monitoring adequacy of activities through coordination with staff, appropriate committees and the Board of Governors. More specifically, the CRO will be responsible to:
- Identify different sources of income
- Establish networks promoting participation in funding for Hospice
- Promote Hospice’s work to increase awareness with stakeholders
- Liaise with Board of Governors to establish a strategic plan to achieve these objectives
- Builds and maintains a strong and productive relationship with investors and all parties
- Supervise Hospice’s strategies, marketing and PR plans
- Act as a pivotal role within Fundraising and Volunteering Department, to maximize efforts and opportunities
- Create networking channels in various levels of society to create revenue generation
- Advise Board of Governors on investments as a regeneration of revenue
- Create opportunities for more awareness of Hospice’s work and services as an information exercise.
Performance Measures:
- Absolute target revenue achieved versus target provided by the Board of Governors
- Increasing number of benefactors who contribute to more than 5% of yearly turnover
- Build and cultivate meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships based on trust on behalf of Hospice.
- The development of an innovative strategic and tactical plan to generate revenue from existing and untapped sources.
Key Attributes
This role calls for an outgoing person with a creative and strong personality, excellent communication and leadership skills, who works well within a team and adopt a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Degree in business administration, public administration, finance, economics or an MBA is highly desirable
- Experience in similar role. Salesforce experience is a plus
- Ability to create an investor and development fundraising strategy to support Hospice’s programs and projects
- Ability to monitor progress and addresses gaps as they arise
- Ability to liaise with the CFO, Committees and Boards for financial strategy and planning, including budgeting, financial projections and financing alternatives for proposed projects
- Work experience with an NGO is an asset
- Preferably an in-depth understanding of the volunteering environment
- Proven Business driven mentality

- Proven target oriented mindset
- Ability to recognise and work effectively on own initiative
- A good team player and able to work with people at all levels within Hospice

- Strong personality and excellent communicator
- Must be fluent in written and spoken Maltese and English
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills at all levels
Albeit experience is considered a good asset, personality, strong character, trustworthiness, motivation, inspiration and characteristic aptitude and attitude are more favorably considered
