General hand

Position Title:        General Hand

Accountable To:       Chief Operations Officer (COO) and/or his/her delegate

 

Duties

  • Perform general day-to-day maintenance and repairs in relation to painting and plastering gypsum works, tiling works, carpentry and plumbing;
  • To assist in the upkeep of the garden;
  • To transport furniture, equipment and any other items;
  • To ensure that all equipment used for carrying out one’s duties such as hand tools are properly maintained at all times;
  • To assist in the ongoing upkeep and general cleaning of the premises;
  • To assist in the upkeep of the Vehicle fleet with regards to cleaning schedules, inspection and maintenance;
  • To assist Security staff in relation to delivery logistics;
  • To keep a record of duties undertaken;
  • To observe and implement established policies and procedures as well as following Health and Safety Operational Standards;
  • To work within a team and supporting colleagues and management;
  • To carry out other miscellaneous duties which may be assigned to him from time to time;

 

Applicants for this position shall:

  • Have an excellent command of Maltese and English language;
  • Have practical knowledge of local legislation related to security as well as Health & Safety;
  • Have effective written and verbal communication skills and must be able to communicate clearly and in a concise manner;
  • Be able to manage multiple tasks;
  • Be a team player;
  • Be flexible in approach, self-motivated, and able to work independently;
  • Be well-presented and organised.
  • Be willing to work on a schedule from Monday -Saturday

 

Basic Requirements for General Hand

  • Have (3) years of experience in a similar role
  • Have a clean police conduct
  • Must have a valid driving license
  • Must not be afraid of heights and use any scaffolds/ladders
  • Must have the knowledge and knowhow to use both power and hand tools
  • Must be IT literate
  • First Aid Certification will be considered an asset.
