Hospice Malta Biennial Palliative Care Conference continues to attract a good number of Healthcare Professionals.  This year’s conference was held on the 24th October at The Phoenicia Hotel, Floriana and a number of guest speakers delivered lectures targeting all aspects of Palliative Care.  The plenary session was delivered by Dr Jurgen Abela who discussed different perspectives in Palliative Care and was concluded by Dr Tony Kyriakides who delved into spiritual issues faced by Healthcare Professionals working with patients requiring Palliative Care.  A number of parallel sessions were then held by various professionals including doctors, specialised nurses, social workers, psychiatrist and chaplain to ensure a comprehensive view of the topic.  A total of 200 healthcare professionals attended the conference.  Ms Maria Gatt, Hospice Malta Chairperson delivered the introductory speech and Mr Kenneth Delia, General Manager chaired the Conference on behalf of the Hospice Malta Education Committee.
