Stephanie Cacopardo and Keith Farrugia, Melita, together with Andrew Zammit, Hospice Malta

As a way to give something back to the community, Melita have organised a fundraising activity to aid Hospice Malta in their mission to provide free of charge palliative care to persons suffering from a number of life-threatening illnesses. An amount of €4,500 was donated, €2000 of which was raised by the employees themselves.

Hospice Malta helps to maintain the quality of life of patients by offering emotional, psychological and physical aid. They are built around the values of “Care, Compassion and Dignity” extending their help to patient’s families and striving to maintain a strong and supportive community.

The NGO provides free care to over 1,300 patients a year and are able to keep up their valuable work through donations, as well as the hard work and dedication of their professional team and volunteers. The amount of people seeking palliative care is increasing yearly, so the helping hand of businesses and the public is crucial in keeping their important work going.

Melita stated that the sum of money was given as a “Thank you for the valuable work that Hospice have done and continue to do on a daily basis”.
