Description

This is an event that is aiming to raise money for the end of life care for people from Gozo.

The money will be donated directly to Hospice specifically to provide temporary accommodation in Malta for relatives of Gozitan people who are receiving end of life care in Malta. One of the aims of Hospice is to care for family members who are travelling through their final stages of life from whatever cause.

We are seeking to raise money by small community /village activities, local business and civil emergency services, culminating in three walks over three days from the 1st to the 3rd October 2022.

Walk one will take place on Sunday October 2nd on Comino (7km) and we encourage families to take part in this event. Thanks to our sponsors Ebsons, we will be providing transport to and from Comino from Mgarr, Gozo and Cirkewwa, Malta.

Walk two is a 25 km walk spread over two days (1st and 2nd October) and starts in Mgarr, Gozo walking to Ix-Xlendi. Day 2 is a circular walk from Victoria to Dwerja and back.

Families are invited to take part in these walks.

Walk three covers 53km around Gozo and will take place on Saturday 1st, Sunday 2nd and Monday 3rd October…. It will not be for the faint hearted.

The route for Walk 3 is as follows:

Day 1:

1. Mgarr
2. Hondoq ir-Rummien / Forti Sant. Antnin
3. Dahlet Qorrot.
4. From Dahlet Qorrot there are 2 alternatives depending on the level of walkers i.e. (a.) either boldering across Mistral Rocks and San Blas to Ramla l-Hamra or (b.) ascending from Dahlet Qorrot to Nadur and descending to (*)
5. Ramla l-Hamra.

Day 2:

1. Ramla l-Hamra
2. Rdum tax-Xaghra (clat cliffs)
3. Marsalforn via Ghar Qawqla
4. Xwejni / Qbajjar / Wied l-Mielah
5. Dwejra

Day 3:

1. Dwejra
2. Ras l- Wardjia / Xlendi
3. Sanap Cliffs / Ta Cenc Cliffs
4. Mgarr ix-Xini
5. Xatt l-Ahmar | Mgarr Harbour.
