Position Title: Security Officer
Accountable To: Chief Operations Officer (COO) and/or his/her delegate
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe environment by patrolling property, inspecting the building and monitoring surveillance equipment.
- Report any incidents, alarming behaviour and other suspicious activity.
- Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
- Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures; and restraining trespassers.
- Routine security checks of the building to make sure that locks and access points are operating smoothly.
- Being the First call-out person during any disputes.
- Keeping a record of all persons and vehicles entering the site using the given access logging platform.
- Calling line managers/Co-ordinators to confirm appointments and escort visitors to the main office and / or conference area
- Helping as necessary the Front receptionist with the admissions of the Car Park.
- Co-ordinating with the necessary departments for any on-site deliveries.
- Escorting any working contractors on site.
- Make rounds and ensure doors and gates remain locked.
- Carrying out staff searches and checks as directed or when the situation demands.
- Respond to emergency situations to provide necessary assistance to employees and customers.
- Protect the company’s assets relative to theft, assault, fire, and other safety issues.
- Be in charge of all the Premises Keys
- Answering any phone calls in case of front reception absence
- Following departmental policies, procedures and service standards.
- Any other duties which may arise from time to time given by management.
Applicants for this position shall:
- Have an excellent command of Maltese and English, both written and spoken
- Have practical knowledge of local legislation related to security and health & safety
- Have effective written and verbal communication skills and must be able to communicate clearly and in a concise manner
- Be able to manage multiple tasks
- Be a team player
- Be flexible in approach, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Demonstrate an ability to act with tact and discretion
- Be well-presented and organised.
- Must be able to work on a shift basis Monday – Sunday (Public holidays included)
Basic Requirements for Security Guard:
- Have two (2) years of experience in a similar role
- Have a clean police conduct
- Must possess a valid private guard licence
- Must be IT literate
- First Aid Certification will be considered an asset.
